Do you know an athlete who plays sports? Has this athlete had an annual sports physical? Has this athlete signed up for summer camps, group lessons, or other programs to improve performance in his/her sport?
If you answered YES to these, you NEED to keep reading THIS post and others on Sports Vision Training:
Just like training your the rest of your body you can train your eyes and brain to visualize, receive, and process the visual information needed to be your best on the field, court, or rink. And just like an athletic trainer can help you with specialized equipment and exercise technique to enhance athletic performance, training with a Sports Vision Doctor can enhance your performance!
There are 20 visual skills used for high performance tasks like sports. Every eye appointment will test 1 of these (monocular visual acuity) by having you look at 20/20 letters and determining if vision is made better with glasses. But do you know YOUR VISION SCORE? Is it normal, or could it be that you can achieve better than normal (20/15, 20/12, 20/10, or maybe even 20/8)? After your eye exam with the Sports Vision Doctor you’ll know YOUR BEST VISION based on visual acuity, but it doesn’t stop there. The other skills need to be tested just like a combine for your brain and eyes: contrast, glare, dynamic acuity, visual processing speed, depth perception, peripheral awareness, hand-eye coordination… These are the number of pull-ups, length of the broad jump, height of the vertical leap, speed of the 40-meter-dash, stamina of the mile run… of the Sports Vision world. You don’t just do well on these metrics without practice and training on the equipment prior to the combine, and you wouldn’t want to be tested for the first time on your visual performance once you’ve gotten into a meeting with the team you want to play for.
So, how do you sign up for testing: 2 ways!
