How Often Should I See My Eye Doctor?

The public doesn’t seem to know what makes for a good exam at the eye doctor, so we’ve defined it for you.

For instance, did you know you aren’t considered an established patient if you haven’t been seen by that doctor’s office in less than 3 years. It’s this commitment to regular wellness eye care that prompted 4Sight to offer a discount for established patients reflected in the cost structure of new vs. current patient.

The 4Sight Promise

A comprehensive eye exam consists of 4 equally important steps:

  1. Patient History with the reasons/goals for an eye exam
  2. Ocular Measurements performed with instrumentation
  3. Acuity Testing and consultation with a doctor of Optometry to restore, improve, or enhance vision with prescription eyewear and more.
  4. Thorough Eye Health examination with dilation when indicated and a “4Sight iHealth Screening” for early detection and prevention.
